Progress has been made. We got the buoy lifted out of the crate and now it is happily resting in the boat cradle awaiting the next step.
This gizmo is a sea ice thickness profiler. It measures the thickness of the ice using electromagnetic induction. Pretty cool. It just hangs there and collects data. The funny thing is we left the ice yesterday to travel south towards Tuk so no ice to measure right now.
Here you see Danny deploying an XCTD. These are used to fill in the gaps between actual stations.
There is a sweet spot directly underneath the flight deck where you can watch the helicopter take off and land. Wicked!
